Specialism – 2D/3d Character Art
Tia's journey into her final major project (FMP) is a personal exploration rooted in her long-standing passion for character makeup and 2D artistry.  Inspired by the vibrant worlds of fantasy video games like Diablo, Baldur’s Gate 3, and League of Legends, Tia seeks to translate her fine art background into the realm of 3D character creation.
Her FMP is an ambitious endeavor aiming to bridge the gap between 2D concept art and 3D modeling. By refining her character sheet and drawing skills, Tia has set out to create a full-bodied 3D representation of a fantastical character, with the idea being not just a technical pursuit but a journey of artistic expression and growth.
Drawing from the rich tapestry of concept artistry exemplified by artists like Michael Maurino, Larry Rays, and Kelvin Tan, Tia aims to blend anatomical precision with vibrant creativity.  Please see some examples of her artwork below.

"For my next character composition, still for the Art for CGI module, I tried to use harder lines with some softer marks and incorporated greyscale thumbnail drawings to show more iteration and variety in the ideas I was developing. This was a step up from the previous work character sheet as I now had more exploration and different textures. This feedback from Emily suggested that the linework and the explorations work well to show that variety, however reference is key in understanding how those materials react in real life even if they are fantastical. "
