Specialism – Hard Surface Modelling Artist
With a strong enthusiasm for creating art, I specialise in hard-surface 3D Modelling, typically creating environments, vehicles and props.
For my Final Major Project, I set to achieve a realistic-looking Cyberpunk-style city environment. This would be 3D-modelled using 3DS Max, textured using Substance Painter and rendered using Arnold in 3DS Max. The scene would be modelled from scratch, using inspirational movies and games as references. The scene would be composed and lit in a way that brings attention to the scene’s focal points, using techniques like rule of thirds.
Volumetrics would also be used to create fog in the scene, which is seen in many Cyberpunk-style films and games. The completed scene would be rendered at a high resolution with low noise. The Cyberpunk genre is commonly defined as featuring neon lights, rain, fog, futuristic technology, and a dark and unwelcoming atmosphere. It is a genre that has interested me since I first watched Blade Runner 2049, which caught my attention with its incredible cinematography, which I aimed to incorporate somewhat into my Final Major Project

After some lighting changes and the movement of several objects and the camera, I settled on this composition. Using the rule of thirds, I aligned the horizon line and the centre of the vehicle each with their own third. I feel this composition provides an excellent balance between the focal point (the Mustang) and the environment beyond
